![]() ![]() Protomatic-V is a MMK45 with coil split capability (with and without separated signal ground). This findings are leading to the following conclusions: This means, that Protomatic-V and Smooth Crash Humbuckers are the same pickups from the electrical point of view which results in the exact same frequency response! Under the assumption, that the value for the resonance frequency (f0) is an unloaded one (too high for a loaded one), the following electrical data can be derived: For both pickups are the following values given somewhere on the gallery: Because of the out of phase switch used in the CS-350, the bridge pickup requires a special 4-conductor version with extra analog ground.Īfter that I got interested what kind of pickups are used in my CS-BG and my PE-BG (see my post here).īased on the informations supplied from the Guitar Gallery, the CS-BG should have Protomatic-V and the PE-BG should have Smooth Crash Humbuckers. Because the ground and shield is not separted, this is a version which is used in the neck position. ![]() The seller told me, that it came out of a CS-350. It has a 3-conductor-wiring for coil-spliting with shield, red and white wire as usual in the CS series. Today the pickup arrived and in fact, it is stamped as MMK45 at the bottom. A few days ago a bought a MMK45 from Ebay for 13.70Euro ($17.00). ![]()
